James Counihan is a New York City based actor originally from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He holds a
BFA Acting degree from Ithaca College.
James is currently seeking representation after finishing back to back years doing national tours for Aquila Theatre, based in New York City.
James primarily focuses on creating and acting in works that examine the human condition through theatre and film. His favorite roles include Marc Antony in Julius Caesar, Carl in The Baltimore Waltz, and Pericles in Pericles.

City Theatre's
Miss Bennet:Christmasmas at PemberlEy
James is excited to return to his hometown of Pittsburgh in the Fall/Winter seasons to join
City Theatre's Miss Bennet: Christmas at Pemberley.
The show runs November 25th through December 17th.
Julius Caesar + Pride and Prejudice
James finished his second national tour with Aquila Theatre performing William Shakespeare's "Julius Caesar" playing the role of Marc Antony and "Pride and Prejudice" playing the roles of Wickham, Collins, Bingley, and others. Both shows were performed in repertory theatre houses around the country.
The Sun Also Sets
James recently finished his New York City off broadway debut in "The Sun also Sets" written by James P Stanton. The show ran at Theatre for the New Audience.
Schism (Short Film)
James recently finished up a short film with Kovac Industries, titled "Schism: Me, Myself, and Authenticity" playing the lead role of Tripp. James was recognized for a best actor award along with the film winning the bronze award for best crime short by the Independent Short Awards
